The last time I came to Santa Pod was in the early 90′s with my 2 cousins and it left me speechless. Awesome place with outrageous cars doing crazy things on a 1/4 mile strip.
It’s taken me almost 20 years to return here and I had an amazing day. I managed to a press pass from the lovely folk at Santa Pod which enabled me to get track side and behind the start grid.
I was experimenting with the 5D ii HD video capture towards the end of the day and was amazed with the quality. Its pretty hard to hold still over 100mm and focus at 2.8. The audio is appalling but then again it was windy and I was standing behind cars laying down 1000+ bhp!! I will post some short videos shortly.
